NWO Mozaïek 2.0 Doctoral Grant (2022) Funded by the Dutch Research Council (NWO) for the project “Choosing between autonomy and relatedness? The role of immigration background in the transition to adulthood.”

Dynamics of Youth Community Grant (2023) — €10,000 For organizing the pop-up meeting “Growing Up and Growing Out?” bringing together researchers and practitioners on autonomy development in adolescence.

Dynamics of Youth Community Grant (2025) — €10,000 For co-organizing the symposium “Dynamics of Family Life in Muslim Families with Migrant Background” under the Youth Education & Life Skills community and ISPED network with Dr. Semiha Bekir.

Research Experience

Research Assistant, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (Oct 2018 – Aug 2021) Assisted with the ERC-funded project “Force of Gossip: The unknown force, how gossip shapes the functioning and performance of organizational groups” supervised by Prof. dr. Bianca Beersma.

Research Assistant, NIDI – Netherlands Interdisciplinary Demographic Institute (Sep 2020 – Jul 2021) Assisted in research projects within the Migration & Migrants theme group led by Prof. dr. Helga de Valk, including the ERC-funded MyMove project and the Quantifying Migration Scenarios for Better Policy project (QuantMig).

Student Fellow, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (Nov 2017 – Aug 2018) Supervised tutorials for Descriptive and Inferential Statistics and Methods of Qualitative Research. Provided research support within the Participating In Society (PARIS) research program.

Co-founder of events connecting researchers, practitioners, and community stakeholders on topics of adolescent development, parenting support, and cultural diversity in the Netherlands.
